Recitarcantando is an ensemble with a variable staff composed of soloists that perform in the main Festivals and Theaters in the world since many years; it dedicates itself to musical research, performing and recording of unpublished pieces, offering Italian music programs, preferring scuola romana and veneziana and authors that wrote music from the first years of the seventeenth century to the mid-eighteenth century, often forgotten by the great repertoire but very interesting in terms of musical aspects.
In 2004 Recitarcandando won the Arcangelo Corelli Prize and was asked to perform the opera “La Rosaura” by Giacomo A. Perti (Teatro Bramante di Urbania), the full-length duets by Barbara Strozzi (Festivove – Corsica), some unpublished cantate by Caldara (Palazzo Ducale di Urbino), the “Neun deutsche Arien” by Haendel (Ravenna).
Recitarcantando offers several programs centered on the Italian first seventeenth century and authors such as S. D’India, Caccini, Grandi, Monteverdi, Cesti, Mazzocchi, L. Rossi, Carissimi, Stradella.
Recitarcantando has recently been a guest at important radio transmissions on Radio Vaticana and Radio Rai 3 (Piazza Verdi and I concerti del Quirinale), performing live some cantate by Carissimi, Stradella and Strozzi. The first CD “Le cantate del Papa” has been published on number III of the periodical Classic Antiqua and will be republished in 2011 by Clavis Edizioni. Clavis has already published for Recitarcantando “A. Caldara/A. Lingua – Cantate”
